Rob graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in Physiotherapy in 1997 after which he trained in Sports Therapy and Personal training. These two qualifications were the starting point for a career in professional sport.
From 1997-2001 Rob worked with members of the GB Swim Team based in the Regional Training Group in Leeds. With these athletes he worked on muscular skeletal injuries as well as strength and conditioning.
In 2001 he was asked to work with the Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Team. Until 2011 he worked with the first team as Sports Therapist/Physio treating many soft tissue injuries and working alongside the Physiotherapist developing rehabilitation programmes.
During these periods Rob furthered his studies and gained qualifications in Chinese Acupuncture, Bowen Therapy and Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques.
In recent years Rob has studied and become a certified Functional Movement Expert, a Certified Kettlebell-Functional Movement Specialist (CK-FMS) and a qualified Strong First Kettlebell Instructor.
Rob left the world of professional sport in 2011 and moved with his family to Fife where he has been working in private practise and in September 2013 took over the ownership of St Andrews Osteopaths.
As a skilled therapist Rob will assess and treat your issues by getting to the root cause of the problem. His philosophy is to treat the whole person and not just the site of pain and by the use of manual techniques and rehabilitation aims to restore you to full function so that you can enjoy your sport or activity.
It’s about the individual not about the activity.
Move well and often.
Always be humble.
