There is a growing recognition of osteopathy within the medical profession, especially since the Osteopaths Act of 1993 made osteopathy a fully registered, self-regulating and protected profession.
Should your osteopath feel it appropriate to communicate with your GP, this will be discussed with you before your doctor is contacted. If you have been referred to us by your GP, we shall normally write a brief letter to report on your progress.
it is not necessary for you to be referred by your GP to see an osteopath, though in some insurance schemes a doctor's referral may be required.
Sick Notes
We are able to issue incapacity certificates that will be accepted by the Department of Social Security (DSS), in the same way as a certificate from your GP would be. |
