Lesley was born in St.Andrews and has been involved in various aspects of sports science and health and fitness for over 25 years and is now very happy to be returning home and joining Rob and his team at St Andrews Osteopaths and Health Clinic.
As a certified Exercise and Rehabilitation Specialist and Pilates Instructor, she is achieving recognition in the golf world by employing a scientific approach to guide the enhancement of golf biomechanics, swing efficiency, and overall athletic ability and movement.
Lesley also works with non-sports clients enabling them to decrease pain, enhance joint function and help lead as active a life as they wish. Her screening process immediately identifies the most important movement challenges for each individual. Following this, she then incorporates a series of corrective exercises and on-going strengthening techniques to help remedy each challenge. Her attention to mobility, stability, and neuromuscular activation, along with advanced rehabilitation techniques are proven to result in optimal changes in mobility and strength. For golfers this results in a more efficient swing that leads to greater power, improved control, and lower scores. Lesley has worked with many forward-thinking golf teaching professionals, assisting in the advancement and improvement of their clients.
Lesley presented her research (synopsis available on golfswingbmi.com) at the World Scientific Congress of Golf in Brisbane Australia (2014) and St.Andrews (2016) and continues to develop her knowledge and skills on a regular basis.
